My writer brain always wants to know what comes next. What happens when that couple settles down into a long-term relationship, and the things they once found exciting are now mundane? Is their relationship still exciting? Is there still a spark? Is there still that passion we as readers love to read about?
I've been in a relationship with my husband for the past 17 years. I have found that my definition of romance has changed considerably as time has passed. I once found an intimate dinner and flowers to be exciting. But now I find the little things much more romantic.
Just last week the Big Guy was on his hands and knees on our bathroom floor scrubbing the grout. He did it because I had a bad back, and he wanted to help me out. If that isn't love, I don't know what is. Needless to say I found a way to thank him!
For those of you in a long-term relationship, I would love to hear what you find romantic.
