The actual writing was just as wonderful. The book opens with the main character, Laryssa, burying her abusive husband. All I can say is, good riddance to that jerk. Now she needs to move forward and heal her emotional wounds.
It's not easy. Laryssa runs into Alex, the new executive at work, who is the spitting image of her dead husband. That's enough to shock any widow, especially one who is pregnant with twins.
Sparks fly between Laryssa and Alex, and despite it all, their attraction grows. They must both overcome a lot of past trauma, all the while navigating around a deranged stalker, to ultimately find peace, heal, and fall in love.
This was a wonderful read. The author was adept at evoking a lot of emotions, not only in her characters, but also in me. I could feel the pain and their struggle. The suspense included with the stalker added to the storyline and kept my interest to the very end. I can see why this writer has won awards. A must read!
