This one wasn't so bad. The presenter had us all take the Myers Briggs personality test ahead of time. If you have not taken it, I strongly recommend you find the test online. It measures you on four personality spectrums, and it shows how you prefer to interact in life based on each one.
We had a lot of laughs as the presenter described typical patterns, and she also discussed how each couple likely interacted and fought based on their scores. She was dead on for Jim and I! She also guessed I had a creative profession.
What I found most interesting about the test was the introversion/extroversion score. I was about as introverted as a person could be. That means I need A LOT of downtime away from people to recharge my batteries.
It got me to thinking about writers in general. I would guess more of us are introverted than extroverted. I mean, we do spend a lot of time inside our own heads working on plots. Does that mean we're more introverted?
Someone should probably do a study on this. In the meantime, I will post a poll on Twitter and see what I find out. Regardless of whether you're the life of the party, or a quiet mouse in the corner, I urge you to keep writing. And heh, if you have the time, write a quick comment here on where you land on the introver/extrovert spectrum.
As for this introverted girl, I need to get back to work...in my quiet office away from all people. Snort.
